Woods Manufacturing Co. Ltd established by James W. Woods
1903
Captain Bernier commissions a purpose-built polar expedition parka by J.W. Woods to be used exploring, mapping, and understanding Canada’s North aboard the CGS Arctic.
1906
Woods outfits explorer Roald Amundsen and crew as they become the first to navigate the Northwest Passage.
1913
The Canadian Arctic Expedition is outfitted with Woods tents, sleeping bags and Arctic Parkas.
1914
Woods equips allied soldiers with tents, sleeping bags and other goods during WWI.
1925
Outfits first ascent of Mt. Logan.
1950
First to circumnavigate North America on the RCMP schooner St. Roch.
1967
Woods becomes the Commonwealth’s largest flag manufacturer.
1982
Laurie Skreslet and his team, outfitted with Woods gear and apparel, become the first Canadians to summit Mt. Everest.
